Last Updated: 10 May 2025 · Effective Date: 10 May 2025
1. Definitions
In these Terms and Conditions, the following terms have the following meanings:
- "Linenhaus", "we", "us", "our" — the business operating at 18, Jalan Kuching, 51200 Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, accessible at linenhaus.cyou.
- "Service" — any arrangement offered by Linenhaus, including Caregiver Communication Coaching, Family Decision Workshop, and Personal Statement Drafting Companion.
- "User", "you" — any individual accessing our website or engaging our services.
- "Agreement" — these Terms and Conditions, together with any written scope document agreed between us and a client prior to the commencement of a service.
- "Session" — any individual meeting, call, or video session forming part of a service engagement.
2. Acceptance of Terms
By using our website or engaging our services, you confirm that you are at least 18 years of age and have the capacity to enter into this Agreement. If you are engaging on behalf of a family group, you confirm that you have authority to accept these terms on behalf of those participating.
3. Nature of Services
Linenhaus provides communication facilitation, coaching, and writing support services. Our services are expressly non-regulated and do not constitute:
- Counselling, therapy, or psychotherapy
- Medical, psychiatric, or psychological advice or treatment
- Legal advice or representation
- Financial, investment, or commercial advice
- Social work or regulated care services
Where a matter arising in a session appears to require the input of a qualified professional, we will say so and refer accordingly. We maintain a list of appropriate referral contacts for this purpose.
Services are available primarily in English and are delivered in Malaysia, including by video call to clients located outside Malaysia.
4. Engagement and Scope
Each service engagement is governed by a written scope document agreed before the first session begins. This document sets out the number of sessions, the nature of the work, the expected output, and what is outside the scope of the engagement. No engagement commences without this agreement in place.
Changes to scope requested after an engagement has begun will be discussed and, where agreed, documented in writing.
5. User Responsibilities
You agree to:
- Engage in good faith and with reasonable openness
- Provide accurate information relevant to the engagement
- Attend sessions at agreed times, or give reasonable notice if unable to do so
- Use the website and our communications for lawful purposes only
- Not record sessions without the prior written consent of all parties
6. Confidentiality
We will keep all information shared during sessions strictly confidential. We will not disclose session content, personal circumstances, or engagement details to any third party, except:
- Where required to do so by Malaysian law
- Where there is a credible and imminent risk of serious harm to any person
- With your explicit written consent
7. Intellectual Property
All content on our website — text, design, and structure — is owned by Linenhaus and may not be reproduced without our written permission. Documents produced during an engagement (shared notes, communication guides, personal statements) belong to the client and may be used by them as they see fit. Linenhaus retains no rights to these documents.
8. Payment Terms
Fees for each service are as follows, in Malaysian Ringgit:
- Caregiver Communication Coaching: RM 2,340
- Family Decision Workshop: RM 1,580
- Personal Statement Drafting Companion: RM 460
Payment details are confirmed during the initial conversation. Payment is typically made by bank transfer prior to the commencement of an engagement. Fees are fixed as stated above and do not change once an engagement has been agreed.
Cancellation and Rescheduling
Sessions cancelled with less than 24 hours' notice may be forfeited. Sessions cancelled with more than 24 hours' notice will be rescheduled. If an engagement cannot be completed due to circumstances on our side, we will arrange a proportional refund of any unused sessions. Refunds are not available once an engagement has been completed.
9. Disclaimers
Our services are provided on the basis of our practitioners' experience in facilitation and communication. We make no representation that participation in any of our services will produce a particular family outcome, resolve any specific dispute, or improve any relationship. Results vary and depend significantly on the participants.
Our website is provided "as is". We do not warrant that it will be free of errors or continuously available.
10. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by Malaysian law, Linenhaus shall not be liable for any indirect, consequential, or incidental loss arising from the use of our website or services. Our total liability in connection with any single engagement shall not exceed the fee paid for that engagement.
11. Termination
Either party may end an engagement at any time by giving written notice. If a client terminates an engagement mid-way, fees for completed sessions are non-refundable. We reserve the right to terminate an engagement if a participant's conduct is abusive, harmful, or incompatible with continuing the work safely.
12. Governing Law
These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of Malaysia. Any dispute arising from these terms or from an engagement with Linenhaus will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Malaysia. We encourage informal resolution in the first instance — please contact us at [email protected] before initiating any formal process.
13. General
- These Terms, together with any written scope document, constitute the entire agreement between us for any given engagement.
- If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in effect.
- Failure to enforce any provision of these Terms does not constitute a waiver of that provision.
- These Terms may not be assigned by you without our written consent.
14. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be noted on our website. The effective date at the top of this page indicates when these terms were last revised. Continued use of our website or services following an update constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
